If luxe Italian-designed furniture is your bag, there’s a hot new collaboration to keep a watch out for — two of Italy’s most formidable design houses, Arflex and Fornasetti, have teamed up to create an exclusive collection for Poliform.
This collaboration brings together pattern and form to create distinctive pieces including gorgeously rich cherry-red armchairs and hexagonal ottomans in strong colour blocks.
We think this partnership is a winner and in August and September you’ll be able to see a bold and theatrical exhibition celebrating the new designs and showcasing their relevance in homes today. Steve Cordony, one of Australia’s leading stylists and Style Director at Belle magazine, will be creating the diorama exhibition of storytelling vignettes showcasing the limited edition Arflex and Fornasetti collection.
If the names Arflex and Fornasetti aren’t familiar to you, Arflex’s history in furniture making spans over 65 years and is renowned for its innovative and experimental approach. They’ve worked with some of the most respected designers and architects, winning numerous awards and many of their pieces are part of permanent collections at the world’s leading museums.
Fornasetti is Milanese painter, sculptor, interior decorator and creator of more than 11,000 products. He’s well-known for putting the face of 19th century soprano Lina Cavalieri on a collection of interior decor items and has been called one of the most prolific designers of the 20th century.
