Creative Director of Art Club Concept, Ben Lawry, says Art Club Concept isn’t just a homewares brand.
We refer to what we do as interior fashion — because we believe that just like fashion it’s a way to reflect who you are — and I think it’s this mentality and style that sets us apart.
They’ve just dropped their latest collection Elysian (Want. It. ALL!) and today we chat with Ben about the new designs and the inspiration behind starting Art Club Concept.
Firstly, your latest collection is ah-mazing! Tell us about it.
“The collection has an effortless luxe style mixed with designer graphics which is true to our brand DNA.
It’s a fusion of texture, design and luxe finishes.
“The colour palette blends soft greys, nudes, navy, black and white, and a splash of blush pink.”
And do you have a favourite piece in the new collection?
“My favourite is by far Enchanted Wall Art from our ‘Innerbloom’ collaboration with my close friend Kerrie-Ann Jones.
“I’ve got an all-black kitchen so this print is sitting across the room in our lounge — the black ties in perfectly with our kitchen and the smoked peony gives the space a beautiful soft edge.”
Kerrie-Ann is an interior stylist whose work has appeared in Real Living, Homes +, and House and Garden (just to name a few!) and she joined forces with Art Club Concept to create a series of prints in the Elysian collection.
“It was born through a shared love for floral design. Kerrie-Ann’s feminine edge in combination with our print aesthetic resulted in artwork that is both elegant and modern.”
The brand has had huge success — you’ve been featured in every interiors mag, are stocked in leading stores like Clickon Furniture, and are appearing all over social media — yet Art Club Concept launched just over a year ago.
“My background has always been in fashion, in the Brand Management and Design space, but one day when on the South Coast of Bali, I had the idea to start the brand.
There’s something about travelling that opens our minds and allows us to think clearly. The idea just sparked and from that day I’ve never looked back.
“I’ve always had a love for art in the home and Art Club Concept was the perfect next step within the creative industry.
“Since launching, I’ve surrounded myself with an incredible team who shares my vision and passion, and we’ve embraced every opportunity along the way. Remaining authentic and staying true to our vision has also been fundamental.”
Ben says they’ve got big plans for this year including international expansion and more exciting collaborations. Can’t wait!
