Discover Night Market Canberra

We’re constantly on the search to discover beautiful Australian homewares and lifestyle products and so are Natalie Weber and Marissa Christian, the duo behind Night Market Canberra, a quarterly outdoor night market in the leafy surrounds of Realm Park in Canberra.

“The inaugural Night Market Canberra event was held in December last year — the event combines pop up stalls focused on fashion, homewares and lifestyle products, as well as live music and street eats for a fun night out,” says Natalie.

“We wanted to create a destination market, something that was more than just a bunch of stalls with typical market wares,” says Natalie. “We wanted to provide Canberrans with a one stop shop of high-end, exclusive fashion, homewares and lifestyle pieces that aren’t readily available in stores — coupled with the ability for designers to showcase their products and meet their customers in person, so an event like this is the perfect way to delivery that opportunity.”

Give us a glimpse of who to expect at the next night market this September?

“We’ll have about 50 stalls that we hand-picked at this event and there is a waiting list for stallholders that missed out, which is crazy! There’ll be a wide selection of quality items, everything from fashion, jewellery, bags and accessories, to furniture, homewares, lifestyle products and even outdoor sculptures.

“Popular stallholders like Lazy Sunday Home and Immaculate Conceptions Homewares will be returning, and new designers like textile brand Restore Grace and furniture maker Grae Wolf Design will be there too.

“The selection of food and drink will also be bigger — there’ll be a pop-up curry house and even be a craft beer company which we know will be a hit!”

The Night Market is hugely popular, what do you think sets it apart?

“Marissa and I didn’t just want to create a market, we wanted to create an event.

“Shutting down the street and offering the combination of market stalls, live music, entertainment for the kids, picnic areas and fairy lights in an urban setting creates a great atmosphere.

“We also carefully curate the selection of products — looking for high quality, great presentation and packaging, and something a little bit different to maintain the brand quality of the market. I think people also really enjoy the opportunity to meet the designers behind those brands,” says Natalie.

You can go to Night Market Canberra on 11 September between 4pm and 9pm at Realm Park (Burbury Close) in Barton, Canberra. For more information visit or like Night Market Canberra on Facebook or follow @nightmarketcbr on Twitter for updates.
