Get organising and join our February #KonMari #stylecuratorchallenge with The Reject Shop!

There’s no denying the effect that Japanese tidying expert Marie Kondo is having across the world right now with her unique KonMari tidying method!

Just scroll through your social media accounts or chat to a friend and they’ve likely told you about how they’ve organised items in their home or perfectly folded their clothing. It’s contagious!

We’ve always been big advocates for decluttering and living with quality pieces you love over high volume… but there’s something about the KonMari method that runs deep. All of a sudden your mindset starts to shift about what you own and why, and it becomes easier to let go of items that no longer serve you.

This month we want to encourage you to ‘spark joy’ in your home and show us how you’ve KonMari’d your home.

We’ve partnered with The Reject Shop on this challenge who are kindly giving one lucky winner a $300 voucher. The Reject Shop is brimming with organising products, including space bags, jars and containers, shoe racks and clothing racks, storage units, and every kind of box you could imagine from small makeup organising boxes to shoe boxes and large lidded garage boxes too! Just check out their current catalogue to see what tidying products you could pick up.

How to join in

1. Share a photo of how you’ve KonMari’d a pocket of your home such as tidying your wardrobe, organising your kitchen cupboards, or sorting through your papers. We’d LOVE to see before and after pics! Be sure to include in the photo caption the #stylecuratorchallenge hashtag and our handles @stylecuratorau and @therejectshop. It’s also a good idea to tag us on the pic so we definitely see it now that Instagram is shadow banning some accounts! We will be checking Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and even Google+ but can only see photos shared on public accounts.

If all your social media accounts are private, you can post your picture and caption as a comment on this Facebook post to enter.

2. Follow The Reject Shop and Style Curator. Be sure to follow both The Reject Shop and Style Curator on social media for challenge updates.

3. Show some love. Check out the photos other people have uploaded of their home by following the #stylecuratorchallenge hashtag. Like, comment and encourage each other along. You can also ‘share’ this page to any social media site or email it to a friend to encourage more people to join in.

Did you know most #stylecuratorchallenge winners have generally uploaded multiple images throughout the month? It makes sense, the more times you enter, the better your chances so feel free to share photos of different spaces or photograph the space from different angles!

Storage boxes

The prize

As we mentioned above, this month one lucky person will take home a $300 voucher from The Reject Shop so you can pick up all your home organising needs.

The Reject Shop has a huge range of storage and tidying products that have just landed, including Bees Knees storage boxes (pictured above) which are exclusive to The Reject Shop.

So whether you just want to tidy one drawer in your home or go all out and give your home the thorough KonMari overhaul, we hope you’ll join in this fun challenge and help motivate others in the community to get tidying too.

*Terms: image must be uploaded to social media between 1 – 28 February 2019, including the #stylecuratorchallenge hashtag and tagging Style Curator (@stylecuratorau) and The Reject Shop (@therejectshop). Only Australian residents are eligible to win the prize but everyone is welcome to join in the challenge. We will select the winner by 7 March 2019 and announced it on the blog.
