Our first #7Vignettes

7 vignettes

For so long we’ve admired the clever and creative photos that many of you post on Instagram during Interior Addict’s #7Vignette each month.

This month we decided it’s time to stop watching and start participating!

If you’re not familiar with 7 Vignettes, at the start of each month Jen from Interiors Addict posts 7 words and for one week people post an image on Instagram that represents the word assigned to that day.

This month, given the Christmas theme, the words were:
1. Tree
2. White
3. Childs play
4. Wish list
5. Wrap it up
6. Shine
7. Monochrome

And here are our photos…

Tree

Of course, it had to be our pallet Christmas tree ๐Ÿ˜‰

White

Some of our favourite textures all in white — feathers, marble, paper and clay.

Childs play

Childs play our first 7 vignettes

We made our own play doh and had a fun night creating this quirky and colourful flat lay, inspired by the super talented Adam France.

Wish list

As much as we love beautiful things, we know the best things at Christmas can’t be bought in a store. Wishing all of you a safe and merry Christmas filled with peace, love and joy, xx

Wrap it up

Wrap it up our first 7 vignettes

A Christmas tree made of gifts (you may recognise some of the wrappings from our 10 Christmas gift wrapping ideas post).

Shine

Shine our first 7 vignettes

There’s something magical about fairy lights and we like this idea for a space-saving Christmas tree.

Monochrome

Monochrome our first 7 vignettes

Putting a twist on the traditional black and white monochrome, we opted for a festive green and white theme.

We had fun playing along in our first 7 Vignettes but our week got manic and we slipped behind on our daily photos, so today we posted four photos (it’s within the rules ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) just to catch up!

Next time, we’ll try to be organised and have our seven photos ready to go before the start of the month (Jen generally gives you a few days notice).

What we loved most about joining in was meeting lots of other fabulous Instagrammers out there! There is a huge 7 Vignettes community on Instagram and they were even more welcoming and supportive of a ‘first timer’ than we could have imagined.

If you are looking for a fun and creative challenge, or want a bit of encouragement to brush up on your photography skills, we recommend joining in 7 Vignettes!

Domayne sponsored this month’s 7 Vignettes and gave away $50 vouchers each day to their favourite vignette, and a $200 voucher to the overall winner.

So not only is playing along with 7 Vignettes fun and a great way to meet other Instagrammers, you could walk away with a sweet prize too ๐Ÿ™‚
