When we stumbled upon The Creative Muster (TCM) we knew we just had to share this talented lady’s works with you!
Neon Perspex frames, metallic bunting and miniature embroidery frames are just some of the cool and unique items you’ll find in her online store.
We caught up with Laura to find out how TCM started and her plans for the brand.
“The Creative Muster started in 2011 when I was on maternity leave with my first baby daughter. Whenever she napped, I would start sewing and making things.
“I had a tendency to never finish projects that I started so I started blogging to spur myself on.
“Somewhere in all the blogging I thought there was a market for miniature embroidery frames. I decided to make 30 of them and list them on Etsy. They all sold so I made more and more and before I knew it, I had an online shop!”
Your online shop and brand has continued to evolve, what do you have planned next?
“I recently introduced the neon Perspex frames. Neon Perspex homewares have been around for a while, championed by Alexandra Von Furstenberg but I wanted to take this trend and make it accessible. They walked out the door and more will be available shortly in new colours.
“Up next are more homewares including a Christmas range and then some fashion accessories.
More than anything, I just love trying new things. That’s a big part of what the brand is about: Fresh ideas and going where customers want to go.
Your two gorgeous girls feature regularly on your blog and website, are they your inspiration or what influences your work?
“My girls definitely influence TCM because they are random and in the moment – the best ideas spring to mind just playing with them!
“Growing up with a mum who is an interior decorator has also played a big part. I grew up making things with her and helping at her market stall.”
We always ask people their biggest dreams, what are yours for TCM?
“The thing about wild dreams is you can never expect or imagine them! My hope for TCM is to remain a place where customers can find cool, unique things that delight them. And to inspire my girls that you can earn a living doing what you love while putting family first.”
