Tonal Bliss was a renovation project that aimed to not only create a functional family home, but a beautiful one too.

“This property is home to a professional couple and their 2 young children,” Richard tells us.

“When it came to renovating their home, the family expressed their desire to revitalise the primary areas of the property. They wanted to infuse them with a touch of sophistication and create focal points that capture attention.

“It was essential for these updates to strike a delicate balance between style and functionality. Plus they needed the ensure the spaces remained highly practical for their young children.

This renovation project aimed to create a Palm Springs inspired home in the middle of Melbourne.

“This home is a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom property. The main work was done on the kitchen, living and dining area, master bedroom, powder room and laundry,” says Richard.

“The inspiration was Palm Springs with an eternal spring summer vibe to help our family get through those long, dreary, Melbourne winters.

“Each space was meticulously renovated, incorporating serenity and improved functionality.”

There are vibrant pops of colour (like that blue pedestal sink!) throughout the home, and yet it manages to stay tonal and cohesive throughout.

“The overarching heart of this home is steeped in a foundation of dusty pinks, blonde timbers, pastels, and rust accents,” Richard explains.

“These tones create a light, airy, and calming atmosphere reminiscent of the chic nonchalance of Palm Springs. Despite being in Melbourne where the winter blues are known to take hold.

“We approached the project to be more tonal and textural. There are so many variants of tone throughout the home. The main colour statement is in the master bedroom. We used blackened timber walls which create a cosy, moody space.

“The living room and entertaining zone are my favourite spaces. There’s just a real sense of calm and openness about them.”
