A little while ago Her Canberra named me as one of the 17 Canberra women to watch in 2017…
This list features women who are changing the world through community work, leading medical research, and social change — so to say I felt a little out of place on the list was an understatement!
Then the other day, one of you said something so simple but meaningful — ‘keep on inspiring’ — and it made me realise that what I do is in its own way special… bringing joy and escapism — and we could all do with a bit of that!
Here’s what they wrote:
“It’s just shy of three years since Gina Ciancio decided to follow her heart — looking beyond the Australian Public Service and into the world of interior design.
Building a new home and giving birth to Patrick as she nurtured her Style Curator blog, Gina quickly engaged a social media following with her minimalist — but always inviting — aesthetic. Style Curator has now cemented itself as an interiors inspo site nationally. Gina has amassed over 25,000 social media followers and the blog receives 50,000 clicks a month.
Meanwhile, she’s just been selected as Foxtel’s Lifestyle Home Influencer — signing up to deliver content to a two-million-plus audience.”
Congratulations to all the increidble women who were named including fellow influencer Tanya Hennessy, ‘Movers’ Alison Plevey, Ellie Brush and Bianca Elmir, ‘Researchers’ Tara Boulding and Hayley Teasdale, ‘Thinkers’ Lucy Poole and Jessa Rogers, ‘Designers’ Charne Estermuizen and Chelsea Lemon, ‘Creatives’ Lexi Bannister and Ute Pikler, ‘Legislators’ Elizabeth Lee and Tara Cheyne, and ‘Change makers’ Caitlin Figueiredo and Hanah Wandel.
This article appeared in Her Canberra’s Future Generation editorial in Magazine: Future for Winter 2017.
Well done Gina, very deserved!
Thank you Sarah, so kind of you to say 🙂
