Hell week has arrived! A monster week with SO much to complete, this week the couples delivered their laundry, hallway and powder room… aka hell week / hellway week.
From one team not finishing (hello lowest score of the season) to some stellar reveals, we know you’ll be as eager as we were to take a look at this week’s room reveals.

Ronnie and Georgia
Elegant and sophisticated. Again! Ronnie and Georgie delivered a classic hallway bathed in natural light thanks to a string of Velux skylights. Styled to perfection with a gorgeous console table, arch mirror, hallway runner rug of our dreams, and three commissioned Australian artworks. As much as we love the look of this entrance hallway, it didn’t tick the functionality box for us. That’s a lot of unused space to heat and cool, and the glass door looking straight into the kitchen doesn’t offer privacy.
They also presented a second hallway starting with a steel-framed door separating the living area from the bedrooms. Featuring a loft storage space, accessed by a hidden pull-down ladder, it was a beauty.
As was their laundry. Stylish and pared back, it’s the epitome of understated luxury. Ronnie and Georgia clearly thought about this space in the planning stage, including the very clever addition that links the butler’s pantry to the laundry. The dream! The judges were equally as impressed.

Score: 29 / 30 (2nd place)
Mitch and Mark
It was always going to be a tough week for Mitch and Mark considering their only hallway is a small space separating the living and sleeping areas of the home. They didn’t have a grand entrance to work with, however they still managed to create a beautifully curated space that was well-planned and well-executed.
Thankfully their hallway styling was pared back, opting for a series of smaller artworks and hallway runner.
Moving into the laundry and it was a big tick from us. The laundry space connects to a full-sized pantry, something the judges were delighted to see (us too!) considering it was such a shock to not see it in kitchen week.
They also included a mudroom with additional storage and garage access. We love a mudroom and think this is a massive plus for Mitch and Mark’s home. Neale commented it was a, “pretty damn good [way]” to tie things together. We would love to have seen a bench seat or some sort of seating to help pop shoes on and off, but still a fab feature.

Score: 26½ / 30 (3rd place)
Tanya and Vito
Moving to Tanya and Vito’s place, and they zoned their spaces via a massive aluminium and glass door. It takes you past a small but functional study space with another unique built-in shelving unit and desk from this year’s risk takers.
The hallway is lined with artworks and also houses a powder room with some very Tanya and Vito choices. Another black toilet, cool teal-coloured basin and… a mirror that we’re going to add to the ever-growing list of ‘possible polarising choices from House 4’.
Their laundry ties in with their kitchen so yes that means, more pink, fluted-glass inset arches, and terrazzo. They delivered a functional space with beautiful finishes, despite being penalised from the judges for having a switchboard cover on display.
We’re curious to know… what do you think of ‘that mirror’?!

Josh and Luke
Taking on board the judges feedback from last week, Josh and Luke redesigned their living and dining spaces. It was a good call for the twins, however set them back, meaning they were unable to finish everything for laundry, hallway and powder room week. And their disappointing score reflected that.
Once again we left Josh and Luke’s spaces feeling a little confused. Looking at their home as a whole, there’s no cohesion and their styling feels all over the shop. We hope this is something they can tweak before auction day. Their hallway was a little underwhelming and that hallway runner gets a hard ‘no’ from us.
Then there’s the powder room. Looking back to their earlier bathrooms, this is a far cry from what they’ve previously delivered.
Moving into the laundry and it’s clear this is where the boys put their time and effort this week. The judges agreed, stating it was worth the trip and was a spacious, well-appointed room and deemed it one of the best the twins had delivered.
That doormat though… talk about an assault on the eyes! We know they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel with the budget but it should never have even left the shop!

Score: 18½ / 30 (5th place)
Kirsty and Jesse
Kirsty and Jesse came through with the goods this week and totally nailed it, taking out another well-deserved win. With arched doorways, traditional wainscotting and light timber flooring, it’s a well executed entrance to the ideal country-Hamptons home.
The judges were in love too, with Neale stating it’s, “so welcoming!” Features of this massively long hallway included a glass-panelled front door, built-in bench seat just inside the entrance, quirky shell chandelier, and in-floor lamps highlighting those beautiful arched doorways.
The judges also admired the powder room which was actually a full-blown bathroom — classic and timeless.
Into the laundry and we were thrilled to see those gorgeous navy cabinets with brass inserts from their winning kitchen. They also added another blue gingham wallpaper wall like their butlers pantry to create a seriously impressive laundry. We certainly wouldn’t say no to having this space in our home!
