Our nation-wide shopping guide series continues and today, we have Ashlee House, the blogger behind House Amour and shopping Queen, with us to tell us where to shop for the home in Perth.

Words by Ashlee House

I definitely love the convenience and diversity when it comes to online shopping, but there is something about walking into a real brick and mortar store that really ignites your senses!

It’s being able to pick up the item and admire its texture that often the screen doesn’t capture. Perhaps the biggest reason I love shopping in stores though, is the memory attached to the item you buy. I love remembering where and what I was doing when I bought a particular item. It’s why I love going on holiday and bringing something back for our home. Every time I look at the item, it takes me back to our holiday memories.

So if you’re in Perth or visiting Perth, here are a few of my favourite homewares stores to pop into.

1. Embassy Home Outfitters

Located 5 minutes from the CBD in West Perth, I actually stumbled across this store by accident on my lunch break.

Embassy Home Outfitters is predominately a furniture store (of incredibly drool-worthy furniture, that is) but they do have a gorgeous selection of cushions, candles, lighting and other homewares too.

Just across the road, you’ll find the epic Gordon Street Garage cafe. So if you’re in the area, do yourself a favour and grab a coffee and salted caramel slice, and then walk across the road to Embassy Outfitters.

2. Corner Store

You can’t help but smile when you walk into the Corner Store. Encompassing all that Freo is: fun, quirky, vibrant and full of colour!

I’m normally quite OCD when it comes to store layout, but the chaotic vibe in here works! You could easily spend an hour or two getting lost browsing the items in this store. Great for finding unique gifts for any age group.

Address: 147 South Tce (Corner of Price Street), Fremantle 6160

Trading hours: Mon – Fri 9.30am-5.30pm, Sat 9am-5pm

3. Many 2.0

This shared warehouse-like space in Fremantle, has only been open a short while but the reason I love it? Anya Brock, who is an incredible Fremantle artist! Many 2.0 is home to Anya’s gallery and a range of other homewares. You can check out Anya’s work here or connect with her on Instagram here.

This little gem would have to be my favourite of the lot! Home to a diverse range of homewares, artwork (from artists such as Sara Winfield and Brent Rosenberg), bedding and rugs.

Located close to the Mandurah Marina, it’s about a 45 minute drive South of Perth but well worth the trip. Frisky Deer also houses an incredible cafe with perfectly brewed coffee and cake of the day.
