Last night ensuites were revealed on The Block Glasshouse: Week 8.
What did you think of the ensuites? Were you knocked off your chair… preferring to look the other way… We’d love to hear your thoughts on the rooms!
Here are our highlights of each room.

Simon and Shannon
The boys wowed the judges with that wooden bath and near-perfect finishes.
Couldn’t you just imagine sitting in that custom made wooden bathtub, looking out at that view?! They wanted to create an ensuite that would impress and they certainly succeeded.
We particularly loved their clever use of continuing the floor tile up one wall to create a grey feature wall, the matt finish basins and use of space. Top work and congratulations on taking out the win!
Darren and Dee
Another really tight scoring week where Darren and Dee were so close to taking out the win (again!).
Regardless of the scores, we loved their ensuite the most. That hexagonal marble tile is seriously to-die-for!
They went for a less-is-more approach and created a sanctuary. Seriously love it!
Michael and Carlene
While Neale didn’t seem to love this ensuite (finding all the lines a bit harsh and the glass cold), we sided with Darren and would be more than happy to have an ensuite like this in our home!
Carlene has an incredible eye and we find the room balanced, sophisticated and clever with the use of materials.
Max and Karstan
Max and Karstan stuck to what they know, using the same tiles, basins, layout and just about everything the same from main bathroom week 🙂
Those glass pendant lights are divine but like the judges, overall we find the bathroom a bit dark and heavy (although you could argue it’s in keeping with their hotel luxe feel).
Chris and Jenna
Spatially and floorplan-wise, these guys did great! Their ensuite allows good movement, has a double shower and ticks all the right boxes.
Unfortunately we’re not loving the way they’ve combined so many different materials. That feature wall in particular could have worked better if it was paired with a different wall tile. That’s just our opinion though, tell us what you think in the comments below!

Oh, I’m so torn! While I really like Simon and Shannon’s bathroom, I think Darren and Dee’s is more inviting and soothing. Can’t beat beautiful sunlight coupled with timeless tiles.
Max and Karstan, OMG, I kar-stand their barthroom! My favourite part of their bathroom is the reflection of the camera man in their second photo. Does that count as a favourite part? No? Ok, well then I guess I don’t like anything about theirs. Points purely for effort perhaps, but style… baa baom!
Thoughts anyone else?
Loving these block updates Style Curator team. Keep them a comin’!
Ha ha Elisa, sayin’ it how it is!
We didn’t spot the camera man until you said it – can everyone find him? It’s like a Where’s Wally in Max and Karstan’s super-glossy ensuite 🙂
