Prevent stains and water damage

Simply sweeping your deck whenever you notice dirt or debris will prevent stains and protect it from water damage. This is because a build up of dirt or leaves can cause moisture to sit on the deck that will stain or discolour over time. Similarly, you should clean up spills straight away, especially those containing food, alcohol, or oil. You can also reduce the likelihood of stains and water damage by using mats, plant stands, or rugs around furniture.
Regular cleaning
In addition to regular sweeping, it’s important to clean your deck from time to time with warm, soapy water. Especially after parties, big storms, or if food or leaves have been left outside on the deck for an extended period of time.
If you need to scrub your composite decking, always do this in the direction of the grain and use a soft brush, such as a broom or dustpan brush. Avoid using abrasive materials, such as metal wires or bristles, that might scratch or damage the deck’s surface.
