1. Rustic magic

One of our fave styles of fire pit is a cast iron fire pit. Cast iron is a great material to choose as it holds heat exceptionally well and is super durable. It also looks amazing, as the next few images will show!

You don’t need much to make a real statement. A rust firepit and a few natural log stools is all this space has and it’s fabulous.

How’s this for a party pit?! The huge curved timber bench seat provides tonnes of seating for an epic night spent around the fire pit.

This curved stone wall nestles into the sloped grass yard and creates a cosy zoned fire pit area. And of course, the extra large square rusted fire pit is the perfect centrepiece.

2. Bring the outside in

If you don’t have a fireplace (or don’t need a fireplace where you live) a fire pit could be the ideal solution. We love how this home opens right up for seamless indoor outdoor living. The firepit almost feels like it’s inside the home!

3. Make it multipurpose

What’s amazing about this fire pit is that it not only functions as a table when not in use, it also houses its own wood stock. Genius!

And can we take a moment to appreciate that stunning living canopy?! What a work of art!

4. Bowl me over

Look at the depth on this beautiful fire bowl! Choosing a bowl with greater depth will hold your fire better and give good protection from the wind. Plus, as you can see from this one… they’re gorgeous too!

5. Sleek and modern fire table

If a modern touch is more your style, this polished concrete EcoSmart fire table might be right up your street. The mixing of materials and textures with the timber bench seating, the black painted brick wall and the smooth sleek concrete is a blissful combo.

6. Outdoor paradise

It’s about as minimalist as you can get. A rusted fire pit, but with a bit of a difference — loving those rounded legs — and a few boulders as seats. No more styling needed!

Love this style of fire pit? We found a similar style from The Firepit Company — the Da Vinci Low 1100 Cast Iron Fire Pit.

7. Effortlessly chic

Another example of understated luxury, this firepit is nestled amongst the garden. It goes to show, you don’t have to overdo your fire pit design… a bit of compacted dirt, log seating and rustic fire bowl is a winning combo!

8. Concrete dreaming

Create a dream outdoor setting space like this one, with a few essentials that will delight family and friends. This square, concrete, smokeless fire pit creates a perfect centrepiece with comfy bench seating and a scattering of outdoor cushions.

So… when can we come visit?!

9. Camp style vibes

If you love the idea of camping but don’t actually want to go camping (yeah… guilty as charged!) an outdoor fire pit like the ones shown below may be more your style!

It will feel like camping… and smell like camping… except without the bush toilets and you get to sleep in your own bed at the end of the camp fire — haha!

10. Specialty fire zone

Creating zones in your outdoor area is a great way to give your garden distinct spaces. And we vote that you should make one of those a firepit zone.

Like this beauty from Three Birds Renovations where they included a custom built curved bench seat and cane armchairs. We love the sage and cream striped umbrella, allowing the space to be used during the day. And of course, the Yabbi outdoor fire pit is the perfect final piece of the puzzle.

11. Metal magic

This metal fire pit table is sleek, stylish and practical. With the sunken fire pit at one end, and the table — with wood storage — at the other, it’s the ideal addition to your patio, deck or any outdoor space.

12. Black beauties

Black and white is never a bad choice. Point and case… see below! The curved, built-in bench seat is the perfect boarder to section off this stunning fire pit zone.

And the modern black firepit is the pièce de résistance.

This one is another stunner! The grid tiled curved bench seat is amazing! And while the zone features another gorg black fire pit, we are loving the pop of colour in the sage green seating.

13. Fire… but make it art

For more of a sculptural option to bring fire to your backyard, what about a fire sculpture?

The Zen Fireball from Entanglements offers a unique style which gives you the fire element and then when it’s not in use, it’s quite literally… a work of art.

Plus it’s a clean-burning flame that produces no fumes, making it suitable for outside or use under cover.

14. Minimalist fire bowl

A backyard fire pit or fire bowl is a great centrepiece for entertaining outdoors. We can picture settling in for the night around this metal fire bowl with marshmallows for roasting and a glass of red on the side. Ideal!

15. When style meets design

If you’re chasing something a little out of the ordinary, this next style is for you. This concrete egg table top fire pit from K Lawrence Collection is so gorgeous — we’re a little bit in love!

With its burner insert, its non-toxic, ethanol-free fuel produces clean-burning flames, making it an ideal portable fire pit. And when it’s not in use, it’s a decor piece in its own right.

16. Light it up

To get your fire flaming faster, you might want to check out propane or gas fire pits. There’s no need for wood as it uses natural gas or a propane tank. So you just turn on the burner and you’re good to go.

Many propane firepits use decorative stones which make for a real luxe feel, as seen in the 2 styles below.

17. English country classic

This large, square, rusted design gives almost a vintage feel to this English garden patio fire pit space. Paired with that gorgeous solid oak Oxenwood sofa and the 500 year old stone wall backdrop, you’d have a hard time tearing us away from this beautiful fire pit entertaining space.

18. Deep and meaningful

These extra large, extra deep fire bowls are such a vibe! Piled with high wood stack, you’d hardly need to top it up as you spend the whole evening lounging around and enjoying the fire. Bliss!

19. Short and sweet

This small fire pit is the ideal size for this smaller courtyard space. The built in bench seat that wraps around the garden beds are space saving ideas that give seating and greenery, without taking up precious floor space.

And the rusted cylinder style fire pit is more compact in design but still makes a big impact.

20. Built in beauties

A table… with a built in fire pit. Yes please! We love how these two images showcase two completely different styles.

This Hamptons inspired backyard from The Block is light and bright with clean lines and contemporary landscaping. The smooth tabletop firepit is the chef’s kiss!

Meanwhile in this modern Australian home, the builtin concrete table houses a rusted steel fire pit. Space for fire at one end, and drinks and snacks at the other — ideal!

21. Holiday haven

If you ask us, every holiday home should have a firepit. Like this stunner at The Pool House.

For another gorgeous backyard fire pit idea, this clever design shows a wood burning fire pit atop a concrete base. Ideal for keeping fire safely off the ground.

We also love the wooden stump stools — the perfect perch for roasting marshmallows!

22. Small but stylish (and safe!)

If you don’t have much room for a bbq or fire pit, now you can have both with this fab design we spied at Temple & Webster.

The Bay Shore Living concrete fire pit is the ideal size for a courtyard or balcony. Its sophisticated design gives you the fire element, and it can be switched to a grill for a feast whenever hunger calls.

Plus the protective cover offers that extra element of safety, giving you peace of mind without compromising on style.
