Neat mini home office
Working from home, even if only for a few hours each week, is becoming the norm. If you don’t have space for a traditional home office, perhaps you could utilise a cupboard space like this? It creates a neat multi-purpose work zone and the open shelves offer loads of additional storage. Just don’t forget to allow for an electrical socket or two, and a phone line if needed.
Pocket doors for days
This next example shows you can never have too many pocket doors! If you love an ultra minimal look, you may like to conceal more than just your home office or coffee station behind pocket doors and consider creating a whole wall of these doors instead.
Black and white cabinetry
How divine is this kitchen cabinetry designed by Edmonds + Lee Architects?! The sleek matte black interior creates a surprise wow feature and we love how it totally changes the look of this space depending on your mood. Bring on cocktail hour!
Internal oak finishes
For a less dramatic but equally beautiful look, you could pair light oak cabinetry with simple white doors. This is a breakfast and coffee bar we’d be happy to have out on show all day long.
Strip lighting
When taking the time to design your cabinetry, don’t forget about your lighting requirements. You may find this article about lighting and electrical things to consider helpful. In this sleek cupboard, strip LED lights offer functional and ambient lighting.
Half-height pocket doors
For wider cupboards or those that will be in high use, a half height door may be a more functional solution. We’re totally inspired by this clever drawer organisation too!
Pocket doors with dreamy handles
The final example in this round up of half-height pocket doors combines the best of everything. Strip lighting: check. Timber joinery: check. Functional power points: check.
Our fave design element has to be those brushed brass pull handles though. Casually described by the designer Jess as an ‘appliances nook’, we’re sure you’ll agree it’s what kitchen dreams are made of! Find our list of the top places to buy door handles and hardware here.
