With winter just around the corner, fire pit season will soon be here! We’ve been getting lots of reader requests recently for more backyard landscaping and design ideas. And among those, fire pit inspiration seems to be top of the list!
So whether you’re thinking of creating a full-blown outdoor fire pit area with inbuilt seating or simply want stylish ideas to incorporate a firepit into your landscape design, we’ve got you covered!

1. Rustic magic
One of our fave styles of fire pit is a cast iron fire pit. Cast iron is a great material to choose as it holds heat exceptionally well and is super durable. It also looks amazing, as the next few images will show!
You don’t need much to make a real statement. A rust firepit and a few natural log stools is all this space has and it’s fabulous.
How’s this for a party pit?! The huge curved timber bench seat provides tonnes of seating for an epic night spent around the fire pit.
This curved stone wall nestles into the sloped grass yard and creates a cosy zoned fire pit area. And of course, the extra large square rusted fire pit is the perfect centrepiece.
2. Bring the outside in
If you don’t have a fireplace (or don’t need a fireplace where you live) a fire pit could be the ideal solution. We love how this home opens right up for seamless indoor outdoor living. The firepit almost feels like it’s inside the home!

This metal fire pit table is sleek, stylish and practical. With the sunken fire pit at one end, and the table — with wood storage — at the other, it’s the ideal addition to your patio, deck or any outdoor space.

16. Light it up
To get your fire flaming faster, you might want to check out propane or gas fire pits. There’s no need for wood as it uses natural gas or a propane tank. So you just turn on the burner and you’re good to go.
