Christmas planning is well and truly in full swing. The kids and I have put up our Christmas tree, pressies are being wrapped, and I’m starting to add other pockets of Christmas decor around the home.
This year, I’m looking for ways to decorate my home without buying everything new. Along with this, I’m going for a more simple Christmas look — nothing too over the top! It’s inspiring me to be more creative and sustainable: Introducing my scented pinecone centrepiece! This truly is the most simple and cheap Christmas decor idea that hardly needs a tutorial but I’ll give it to you anyway…

Items you will need:
- Bowl or tray of your choice
- Tealight candle holder (I bought this glass one from Bed Bath N’ Table)
- Collection of pinecones (you can forage these or buy them from the dollar store)
- Essential oil of your choice

Steps:
1. Place your tea light candle holder in the centre of your tray or large bowl.

2. Then position pinecones around your tea light. You could add even more pinecones than me for a fuller look or nestle some pine sprigs in between for a touch of greenery.

3. Fragrance your pinecones by adding 3-5 drops of essential oil to each pinecone. I used a Christmas essential oil but you could use any fragrance you like, such as cinnamon or clove.

4. Finally, light your tea light candle and it’s done! I did say it didn’t need a tutorial, ha ha!
